K1 Knightsbridge is a mixed-use development in Knightsbridge, London SW1.
The 340,000 sq ft/31,600 m² project comprises high-end retail and office space, 35 residential units and a new rooftop restaurant in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea.
The development sits on the corner of Brompton Road and Sloane Street in Knightsbridge. Opposite to Mandarin Oriental and One Hyde Park and next to Harvey Nichols. It is directly adjacent to
the Piccadilly Line underground train line.
To achieve acceptable structure-borne noise levels within the residential element of the project, 10Hz Stravibase VHS bearings were specified on top of the first floor columns.
We designed and installed the entire bearing assembly including top and bottom steel plates, disproportionate collapse and fail-safe details.
Every bearing can be replaced using our patented frozen bearing technology (FBT).
