St Martin in the Fields is a landmark church looking over Trafalgar Square. In 2006 the church embarked on a £40m building project to restore, transform and enlarge, thereby creating a new sequence of beautiful, practical and inspiration spaces to serve the community, visitors and those in need.

A new music rehearsal room forms part of the new underground extension and it is located directly over the Northern line. Trains can be clearly heard in the building and so there was a requirement to isolate the room to provide good conditions for music practice and performance.

A range of CDM products and bespoke solutions were used to ensure that all of the internal structures were not in contact with the un-isolated surrounding structures. The room has a crisp and clear acoustic with a marvellous diffuse sound field.
